Being a receptionist at Playground means being friendly and welcoming to all and knowing everyone in the studio. Vilma Roa shares all of these qualities and more with her positive attitude, organizational skills, and ability to build relationships and communicate with a variety of different people.
Though she is a Philippines native, Vilma soon moved to Mountain View at the age of 7. She then attended Cal Poly SLO where she specialized in graphic communication. Vilma then went on to work in the graphics industry.
Here, she welcomes and greets guests, oversees the distribution of incoming and outgoing mail, develops the weekly and monthly Envoy visitor report, and works on any other small projects assigned to her. Vilma knows that as a receptionist, she is the first face that people will see before they meet anyone else from the company. She makes the first impression on all of the guests or clients that come to Playground.
When asked what working at Playground has taught her, she says, “I have learned a lot about Playground’s reputation and the reputation of their leaders. They have a long history in leadership and I’m grateful to be a part of that. Their growth, values, and success are very inspiring.”
In her free time, she loves going to the beach and spending time with her kids and family. Otherwise, when you pay a visit to Playground, she’ll be at the front to greet you with a smile on her face.
