Biography

Clinton Lazzari

Senior Hardware Engineer

Clinton Lazzari enjoys helping companies solve engineering challenges to create brand-new things. If the solution involves finding new ways to reuse existing parts and concepts, he says, so much the better.

Prior to joining Playground as Senior Hardware Engineer, Clinton worked at Google, where he contributed to the development of products such as the Nexus Q, ADT-1, and Chromecast. He also worked on Project Loon, which focused on creating an aerial wireless network to bring Internet access to remote areas.

Clinton has designed hardware and electrical systems for a wide array of products, including set-top boxes, consumer electronics, and, while working at Liquid Robotics, ocean-going data-collection robots. He says the ocean provides a harsh testing ground for ideas that look good on paper, adding, “I found out a lot about stainless steel. It isn’t stainless.”
